FAQs

What is Permanent Makeup?

Nano Brows, Powder Brows, or Combo Brows are all semi-permanent forms of cosmetic tattooing, where color pigment is manually or with a machine, implanted beneath the surface of the skin by means of a small, sterile, disposable needles. This produces the appearance of fuller eyebrows or enhances the natural features of the face. This treatment lasts approximately 1-3+ years.

What is the difference between Microblading & Nano Brows?

Also known as nano needling or micropigmentation, nano brows are created with one single needle and a permanent makeup machine instead of the traditional manual tool. The device is then used to provide controlled movement as it dispenses pigment directly into the skin.
Generally speaking, both microblading and nano needling will give a similar end result. That being said, there are a few differences that you’ll want to consider.
You’ll get a more effective, longer lasting results from nano needling as the procedure involves less trauma to the skin. The single needle implants pigments directly into the skin with less invasiveness and cutting. With microblading, the pins used to create the blade shape for microblading are more rigid, a bit thicker and the tool must be scratched across the surface of the skin, creating a cut for pigment to be soaked into. Nano brows also comes with the benefits of offering a more natural and crisp result, with less risks of the pigment being implanted too deep. They are suitable for ALL skin types and last upwards of 2-3 years. Basically, see nano brows as microblading but with more precision, accuracy, longer results and better for your skin!

How many appointments are needed?

Two treatments are usually needed. The initial procedure is followed by a touch-up session 6-8 weeks later. Frequency of touch-ups are unique for each individual based on various factors including skin type, pigment color and lifestyle.

How long does permanent makeup last?

The treatment is considered semi-permanent and will not wash-off. Results will fade over time and may need a touch-up every 1-3+ years.

Does it hurt?

It is more uncomfortable than painful. However, each experience is dependent on your pain threshold. Numbing gel is used after the completion of the first pass.  Please note, a small, sterile, disposable needle is used to implant the pigment beneath the surface of the skin.

What is the healing process like?

The typical healing time is between 7-14 days, during which some redness and scabbing may occur. Your brows will appear darker than expected for the first few days, they will gradually lighten over the course of the healing process.

Can I get my eyebrows done if they were previously tattooed?

Reminder About All Treatments & Procedures

Please note that final results cannot be guaranteed as each skin type is unique and will hold and breakdown pigments differently and at varied speeds. Retention depends on a number of factors including: the pigment color used (lighter colors fade faster), lifestyle (sun exposure), iron deficiency (your body absorbs iron-oxide as a supplement), and if any chemical peels come into contact with the treated areas.
